Margaret Kane Studio

 It was not long before

Margaret Kane arrived in

the U.S.  that she found

herself embraced by the

NYC Greenwich Village

art scene during the late

60's and early 70's.

It was here that she drew

the attention of many fine

Publishing Houses enabling

her images to be seen

around the world...

A branch of white roses lay on a stone window ledge with a blue sky behind it. Four of the roses are in bloom, and two lay waiting. Shadows are cast as the light filters through showing the translucency of the petals and ignites the orange and greens of it's pistons.

Born 1938 outside London England, Margaret found solace

in a disruptive world through her art.  After immigrating

to the U.S. in 1963, Margaret began exhibiting her work at local street art festivals and fairs where she found the recognition that launched a career that spans over 60 years.  Some of her works have been purchased by The Guggenheim Foundation, are on permanent display at The Tokyo Museum, and are in such celebrity collections as those of Clara Clemens, Barbara Streisand, Cher, Tom Jones and E.G. Robinson.

'The Forgotten One' Watercolor on Board. A dark haired boy sits cradeling his knees to his chest. His clothes are in rags and carry hues of brown much lighter than the color of his hair and eyes. His face is sweet and sad and seems to hold the acceptance that he is lost.

'A Stillife' Oil on masonite. Light is cast across a table where an overturned vase of assorted colored roses lay. A dark lace curtain hangs and is draped on the table. A decorated ginger jar, and a blue plate edged in gold also sit before the backdrop of a deep plum velvety wall.
